THE INTERNATIONAL GEOGRAPHICAL COMPETITION ( IGC 2000)

The Third International Geographical Competition was held in the city of Seoul, in South Korea from 13th – 19th August 2000. The South African Geographical Union and the International Geographical Union recommended that South Africa should be represented by Mbilwi Secondary School in the competition. When the school joined other participants we came to realise that the South African team was the only team from the African continent. At the end of the competition the South African team received the award of the Best Friends of Korea Award.

In 2004, Mauda Rendani qualified to attend International Geographical Olympiad Union School in Poland. He is given this wonderful opportunity because he came as one of the top 4 in the whole of South Africa in Geography Olympiad competitions.

In 2006, Mauda aluwani and Ndwamato Awelani won the Young Communicators Award Competition and got opportunity to attend “Presidential Class Room” at Washington DC.

In 2006, Mbuvha Rendani was offered an opportunity to attend International Summer School for Young Physicist in August which was sponsored by South African National Commission for UNESCA.
